Step #2: Now, imagine you have all the self-confidence in the world, the kind of rock-solid belief in yourself you’ve always wanted to possess. Imagine how you’ve always wanted to be able to act, perhaps emulating someone you’ve long admired, or someone you’ve read about in a book or magazine. This is some one who, when looking at their successful career, you’ve always dreamed of matching. Put yourself in his or her place right now as you answer the following questions:
1) If you had unstoppable self-confidence how would the rest of your life be different?
2) How would your practice be different?
3) How would your personal life be different?
4) How would your world be different?
Commit in writing your new compelling future, a future of total self-confidence, of never being denied, of always feeling certain about any situation and every outcome, knowing that you could pull it off and that you can get the job done right each and every time you step up to the plate. The future is yours to envision and create.
NOTE: After you write that paragraph you should be pretty excited about a new and possible alternative to your current situation. Again, as human beings, we always look at things in terms of consequences, so in these exercises I wanted to give you a left and right-side perspective to ponder. I want you to seriously think about what it will—or has—cost you not to do something because of a lack of self-confidence as compared to what your future could hold in store for you if unstoppable self-confidence was within your grasp.
Keep these paragraphs available to read each and every day. Ideally, you should slot them into your daily game plan as part of your morning success ritual. This is a fundamental foundation to building self-confidence.
Rev Your Engine
You are 90 to 100% of the engine that drives your success in both your business and personal life. If you do not have self-confidence, and have it in abundance, you are not going to take action when required to do so, therefore, your results will not be there.
It doesn’t matter what marketing plan you buy, what business plan you have written, how many people you hire or how good they are if you do not have this key element at your disposal. Without self-confidence you will always struggle. You will never reach the level of success you want.
That is why I am pushing you to get a handle on this now. And if you already feel you’re at the top of your game, well, there’s always room for improvement, right? Aren’t we all looking for constant and never-ending improvement?
If this is the area in which you struggle, make a commitment to move ahead and make a shift now. Commit to changing.
